Hoisin sauce in Chinese for seafood, but the sauce does not contain any seafood ingredients. It made from a combination of fermented soy, garlic, vinegar, and usually chili and sweetener. It is a thick, pungent sauce commonly used in Chinese cuisine, and it can be used as a dipping sauce for egg rolls, spring rolls, pork, and also be used as a sauce to add flavor and thickening color to dishes. Individual packets make it easy to carry around and take with any meal.
