Sichuan peppercorn (Sichuan Pepper) is an essential ingredient in Sichuan Cuisine. In China it's called Hua Jiao, namely flower pepper. Sichuan peppercorn has a very unique aroma and flavor not similar to black, white, or chili peppers. With lemony overtones, Sichuan Pepper usually creates a tingly numbness in your tongue or lips which combines with hot spices creating a special sensation of sense.
Our Sichuan pepper is imported directly from the growing regions of China with its latest harvest (2016). Green Sichuan Pepper has stronger aroma with less tingly numbness than Red Sichuan Pepper. We are confident that our Sichuan Peppers is among the highest quality available in US market.
