Facing Heaven Chili Peppers, Chao Tian Jiao, is one of the most famous chili peppers used in Sichuan cuisine.  In Chinese, Chao Tian 朝天 means facing heaven. Jiao 椒 means pepper.  Facing heaven chili peppers get its name because the chili peppers are pointing to the sky in the plant. 

The heat level of Chao Tian Jiao has a wide range from 10,000 to 50,000 depending on many factors such as the climate where it grows. Our facing heaven chili peppers are imported from Sichuan.
