Chili Paste, also called Broad Bean Chili Paste, is one of the most used ingredients in Sichuan cuisine. Among different kinds of Chili Pastes, Pi Xian Dou Ban Jiang is famous for its long history and its widely usage and named after the place where the chili paste is manufactured. Pixian is a small county just out of Chengdu. It's said there are thousands of manufacturers in Pixan to produce broad bean chili paste. Among them, Pixian Douban Limited Co has the longest history and its brand Juan Cheng is one the best and definitely most famous.
